The Georgetown Dish — Home is Where the Art is

Four hundred guests helped kick off the 2012 DreamHome design show in March. Featuring eight top up-and coming interior designers, each designer was given a room to design and make their own. They took inspiration from the emerging craft artists who are represented in the Smithsonian American Art Museum/Renwick Gallery’s “40 under 40” exhibition. Of these inspired rooms, the only one to incorporate art as the core component of its décor was Scott Cooke of Scott Cooke Design.

Scott Cooke of Scott Cooke Design was among those chosen to design a room for the 2012 Dream Home. Cooke’s goal for his living room was that it should be "art driven" and the room to be a venue for original artwork. Cooke appointed ArtSPACE Management LLC to curate the artwork. The artwork was generously provided by Craig Cahoon, Cross-MacKenzie Gallery (Tati Kaupp) and Eve Stockton.

Washington Design Center 2012 DreamHome Design Craft — "Meet the Designers"

Design Craft is a creative partnership with the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery and its exhibit, 40 Under 40: Craft Futures. Scott Cooke was selected by the Washington Design Center, one of eight designers, to choose a piece from this collection of craft by our country’s most talented emerging artists, and use those pieces as the inspiration for each room design.
